Heritage trail meets beef farm

Catering to all ages and abilities, our custom playground at Charlie’s Paddock (located at CY O’Connor Hotel in Piara Waters) celebrates the area’s rich history and legacy.

Our team worked closely with client Melaleuka Farm to design, build and install a unique themed playground experience that celebrated the client’s famous butchery alongside C.Y. O’Connor’s historical Golden Pipeline engineering feat.

Using a combination of customised off-the-shelf items and new custom builds, we worked closely with the client to produce a design that was not only suitable for a variety of patrons, but also maximised the tight lineal space available.

Being a family-friendly venue, the client also wanted a separate enclosed baby/toddler area, which we resolved by including a unique ‘calf pen’ custom kitchen and sandpit with a farm themed low height fence, along with carved log calves and clever timber hay bale informal seats.

Everything was built off-site in our factory before installing on site across 2-3 days – ahead of schedule and with minimal interruptions to on-site trades, who were busily rebuilding the previously fire-ravaged historical pub.
